(LEX 18) — Videos that appears to show students from a northern Kentucky Catholic high school mocking Native Americans drew outrage and condemnation Saturday, including from Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.

The videos, posted to Instagram and Twitter and shared widely, appear to show a large group of young people — including students from Covington Catholic High School — surrounding and mocking a small number of people apparently taking part the Indigenous Peoples March in Washington, D.C.

Attempts to reach officials with Covington Catholic were not successful, and the identities of the people shown on the videos could not be immediately verified.

However, Covington Catholic’s website shows that a trip to D.C. was planned for students to attend Friday’s March for Life event.

Grimes shared one of the posts on her personal Twitter page, lamenting the incident and noting it comes days before the nation celebrates the life and legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

As of early Saturday afternoon, several of the videos on Twitter had been shared and commented upon tens of thousands of times.
